NAMI Cayuga County is a 100% volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support, education, and advocacy for families, and friends with a loved one who has a serious, chronic mental illness. We are a grassroots operation that provides programs for families and friends of those who have a serious chronic mental illness.
Several members of the board of the Cayuga County affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness presented a $600 check to Seymour Library in Auburn on March 31 to support the purchase of mental health-related materials. They include e-books and audiobooks, as well as hard copies for children and adults. The materials will also be accessible for free through the Finger Lakes Library System to all libraries in the county. as a recent acquisition the library received a donation of $300 to purchase the children’s discovery backpacks. Each backpack contains a theme on mental wellness. They are available for a 3 week loan by contacting the Seymour Library.

With the help of NAMI NYS, NAMI Cayuga County will be able to assist numerous food pantries in the community in 2021. They include: Salvation Army, Weedsport Brutus-Sennett Food Pantry, Port Byron Community Food Pantry, Throopsville Community Church Food Pantry, Cato Christian Food Pantry, Fair Haven Community Church Food Cupboard, Moravia Hope Pantry, Union Springs Western Cayuga Food Pantry, King Ferry Food Pantry along with the food pantry for students at Cayuga Community College located at 197 Franklin St. Auburn.
